Download Digital Legacy from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2 Create an account
Create an account with your email address. All data is stored encrypted.
3 Connect AI server
Connect the app to an AI server (locally via Ollama or your own server).
For maximum privacy, we recommend using a local AI server like Ollama. This way, your data never leaves your network.
To create a digital legacy, you first create a profile for the person.
1 Tap "New Person"
On the main screen, you'll find the button to create a new person.
2 Enter basic information
Enter the name, optionally a photo, birth date, and relationship (e.g., "Grandpa", "Mother").
3 Describe personality
Describe the personality: Was the person humorous? Thoughtful? Warm-hearted? This information helps the AI respond authentically.
4 Set language and style
Choose the main language and describe the speech style (e.g., "Uses many proverbs", "Speaks with an accent").
The more memories you add, the more authentic the conversations become.
Use the interview feature to systematically collect memories. The app asks targeted questions about various areas of life.
Respect the person's privacy. Only add information that the person themselves shared or would share.
After adding memories, you can chat with the digital legacy.
The AI uses all stored memories, the personality description, and the speech style to generate responses that sound authentic. The more context you provide, the better the responses.
The AI can only respond based on available memories. If information is missing, it will communicate that honestly. It doesn't invent facts.
All data is stored encrypted with AES-256 on your device. Even if someone gains physical access to your device, the data is unreadable without your password.
